Last September 4th Casino Sanremo and employee unions signed a contract concerning the introduction of the Ez-Pay automatic payment system in slot machines. Now, the casino has taken a new step forward by achieving an important agreement, signed by the Management Board, and that will affect the strategic gaming production.

The arrangement provides a solution to the difficulties caused by Article 54 in the collective work contract. This article allows the casino to offer a maximum 16 American table games on its gaming floor and the option to offer 26 card games including blackjack, baccarat, poker and Poker Texas Holdem.

The main problem is that card games mean smaller tips, which are the largest part of croupiers’ wages. In order to solve this, and in an attempt to maximize the performance of American games, attract more punters and increase production capacity through competitiveness, the casino has agreed to the division of tips.

Traditionally, tips are divided 50-50 between croupiers and casinos but through this agreement the Casino Sanremo staff will obtain 52% in French games as of January 2009 and by July 2010 this number will increase to 55%. In American games, on the other hand, the percentage will go from 57% to 60%.
